Butter Rolls
1 pkg. active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
3-1/2 cup flour
Butter, melted

Dissolve dry yeast in 3/4 cup warm water.

Mix together 1/2 cup softened butter with sugar and egg. Mix well.

To the butter mixture add the yeast mixture plus another 1/2 cup warm water, salt and flour. Mix well, then let stand in the refrigerator overnight.

Knead, cut out rolls, dip in melted butter and let rise at room temperature for about 2-1/2 hours. Bake at 400 degrees until brown

Note: This recipe can also be used to make sweet rolls. Roll out dough, then cover with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. Roll up, cut in 1 inch slices and bake. Icing can be put on baked rolls.
